Are fires permitted in wilderness?

Fires are permitted in Wilderness Areas, but some areas have restrictions. In Twin Peaks Wilderness Area campfires are not permitted in Mill B South Fork Drainage. Fires are restricted in this area due to it being a popular backcountry camping location. Excessive gathering of dead and downed wood degrades animal and plant habitat and negatively affects soil quality.

Can dogs go into wilderness areas?

Dogs are allowed in most wilderness areas, but are not allowed in protected watersheds. Since every acre of the Twin Peaks Wilderness is part of protected watersheds, dogs are not allowed in that wilderness. The no dog policy keeps bacteria out of the water that would need to be treated otherwise.

Where are wilderness areas?

There are three designated wilderness areas in the Central Wasatch Mountains. These areas are Twin Peaks, Mt Olympus and Lone Peaks Wilderness Areas. They are located east and southeast of Salt Lake City.

Are drones allowed in wilderness areas?

Drones are not allowed in wilderness areas. Motorized vehicles are prohibited, which is what drones fall under.
