Planned Giving
Thank you for your interest in our Planned Giving Program. Planned giving is a vital source of support for Save Our Canyons, assuring our continuing ability to protect the beauty and wildness of the Wasatch Mountains, canyons, and foothills.
The term planned giving is used to describe charitable giving through bequests, trusts, or beneficiary designation. Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $105,000 total to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions. As a result, donors may avoid being pushed into higher income tax brackets and prevent phaseouts of other tax deductions, though there are some other limitations.

IRA Donations
If you are age 70 ½ or older, you can contribute up to $100,000 of your IRA to charities, each year. This is done through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).
