Doug is a lifelong resident of the Great Basin and Colorado Plateau. Growing up exploring the wild mountains and deserts of Utah with his family, he built an early appreciation for the preservation of those spaces.
After spending his early 20’s in the ski industry, Doug attended the University of Utah to receive an MFA, where he was a Global Change and Sustainability Center Fellow, and received the Frankenthaler Climate Art Award. With a background in ecological art and education, he began working with FRIENDS of Great Salt Lake, where he further developed his policy and communication skill set.
Doug is passionate about using solution-oriented dialogue to help solve the many water and land-use issues in our watershed. In his free time, you might find him ski touring, running, or riding his bike down dusty dirt roads.
