Get Involved

Save Our Canyons relies critically on the support of individual members, local businesses, and volunteers. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Since 1972, we have coordinated, partnered and collaborated with a number of individual community members, community groups, local and national businesses and granting foundations to complete our mission of protecting the wildness and beauty of the Wasatch mountains, canyons and foothills – testament to our official name – the Citizens’ Committee to Save Our Canyons!

Please use the navigation to the right to donate, volunteer, sign up for our email alerts, join the conversation on social media or continue reading below for additional information about how you can get involved with helping our efforts to protect the Wasatch Mountains.

Individual Membership

Save Our Canyons, unlike many other organizations relies heavily on the financial support from our membership to run our organization. Every individual member provides necessary funds to ensure that the SOC staff has the tools needed to advocate for the protection and preservation of the Wasatch Mountains, canyons and foothills. Members receive invites to SOC events, quarterly newsletters delivered to your door or via email if you so choose, and join the community of citizens that place a high value on the solitude, flora and fauna, recreation and watershed resource that are provided to us by the Wasatch Range. To join please click the donate now tab. If you have questions about donations or joining Save Our Canyons as a member please contact us at 801-363-7283.

Business Membership

Save Our Canyons depends on our membership and local business support to fund our campaigns and continue our work to protect and preserve the Wasatch Mountains, canyons and foothills. If you are interested in learning more about how your business can support our mission please contact Sarah Sleater at Sarah@saveourcanyons.org or 801-363-7283.

Volunteer Opportunities

Save Our Canyons, like most non-profit organizations, relies on our community of volunteers to help further our efforts to protect the Wasatch Mountains, canyons and foothills. We are always looking to work with passionate people to expand the reach and effectiveness of our organization. Volunteering for a few hours a week or at one of the many community events in which we participate is a great way to gain knowledge of the issues facing the Wasatch and the watershed that supports over half a million people in the Salt Lake Valley. To volunteer with SOC please click here.

Distribute SOC newsletters

SOC publishes a quarterly newsletter to update our members and community on our work. Please contact us at info@saveourcanyons.org to come pick up a stack and then deliver them to your favorite coffee shop, restaurant, school, pub or library. This is a great and easy way to get involved with SOC and show your support for Wasatch Wilderness! Please call our office at 801-363-7283 or email info@saveourcanyons.org.
