On Saturday, June 28th, Save Our Canyons teamed up with dedicated community members for a spring cleanup at Khyv Peak near Provo Canyon. Thanks to their efforts, a significant amount of trash and debris was removed from this popular recreation area, which sees heavy traffic due to its easy access from the valley and nearby campgrounds.

Over the course of two hours, 11 volunteers came prepared. Gloves on, bags in hand, ready to tackle the mess. They scoured the parking area, roadside, surrounding trails, and forested overlook, determined to leave no piece of litter behind.

The haul included plenty of usual suspects: snack wrappers, cans, and stray outdoor gear.

Thank You!

Khyv Peak is one of the most heavily visited trailheads and overlooks in Utah County. Cleanups like these are vital to keeping our public lands safe, scenic, and sustainable. We’re always honored to support the U.S. Forest Service and care for the Wasatch Mountains through hands-on stewardship opportunities. Special thanks to the Central Wasatch Commission and the Wasatch Mountain Club for funding this important work.
