Keep it Roadless, Stand up For Public Land Protections

The Trump Administration has announced they plan to rescind the beloved 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule, which protects 323,000 acres of Wasatch forest from development. While this change would likely not lead to immediate development on these lands, it would remove an important layer of protection that we have relied on for decades to prevent commercial expansion into our forests. Habitat connectivity, water quality, forest health and recreation experience all benefit from keeping these areas free of roads. The increased traffic, development, and wildfire risk brought by this change would all significantly impact the beauty and wildness of the Wasatch, the range  Save Our Canyons  was formed to protect in 1972.
