Comments on Salt Lake County Section due by April 17th
You are invited to comment on the Forest Service proposal to construct sections of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail (BST) on National Forest System (NFS) lands in Salt Lake County.
The Forest Service proposes to construct a three-foot wide trail along the proposed BST alignment on NFS lands. The trail will accommodate year round non-motorized uses including hiking, biking and equestrian use on some sections where consistent with Wilderness and watershed regulations.
There will be a workshop/open house from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on April 5, 2006 at the Whitmore Library conference room, located at 2197 Fort Union Blvd. Representatives of the Forest Service and local agencies will be present to answer questions regarding the proposal and the NEPA process.
If you are not able to attend the open house, you can still submit comments. The Sale Lake Ranger District must receive your comments on this proposal by April 17, 2006. It is important that those interested in this proposed action participate at this time. To be most helpful, your comments should be as specific as possible. Written comments provide us a record of public concerns and will be used to identify significant issues and potentially to develop alternatives to be addressed in the environmental analysis.
Comments should be directed to:
