Congressman Jim Matheson unveils H.R. 5009 -The Wasatch Wilderness and Watershed Protection Act.

 

Over the past decade, Save Our Canyons has been vigilant in our efforts to expand the Wilderness areas in Wasatch Mountains to protect our water supply and the remaining wildlands outside of Salt Lake City. We are extremely excited to announce that our years of work have finally paid off and with support from Salt Lake City, Snowbird Ski Resort, Sandy City, Black Diamond, and a number of other very passionate stakeholders and businesses, Congressman Matheson has agreed to introduce legislation that would place permanent protections on these highly valued places.
